State-wide Apprenticeship Coordinator: Greg Schulze
Local 84's Apprenticeship is a 3 year program. You will "Earn while you Learn" Apprentices are required to attend classes in the evenings, while learning on the job. Classes are generally 2 nights a week during regular school schedule. Some weekend training may be required. You will obtain in theses classes OSHA 30, Sub-Part R, Crane, Rigging and Signal Person Certifications as well as CPR-First Aid. You will be taught all phases of the Ironworker Industry as well as Welding training. All this will be at no cost to the Ironworker Apprentice. All classes are through Houston Community College.
